Job Responsibilities:
• Participate in the full development life-cycle and maintenance of a DB2 database.
• Working with development team to identify requirements.
• Define database physical structure.
• Perform DB2 maintenance/enhancements, security and backups.
• Install, maintain and upgrade DB2 software.
• Provide DB2 production support – i.e. troubleshoot and manage issues, etc.
• Extract, transform and load client production data into DB2 Data Warehouse.
• Allocate system storage and plan for future data growth.
• Schema management for objects such as tables, views, and indexes.
• User account and system security management.
• Controlling and monitoring user access to the database.
• DB2 performance tuning and optimization.


Technical Skills:
• DB2 database administration, maintenance and optimization skills.
• SQL programming skill.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows – O/S management and scripting automation.
• DB2 Backup and recovery.
• DB2 security implementation and management.

Other Skills:
• IBM Alphablox knowledge an asset.
• IBM Cubeviews knowledge an asset.
• Exposure to ETL tools an asset.
• Linux scripting.
